His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Region, welcomed at his office in the emirate's bureau on Wednesday, the head of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, and the members of the Endowment Committee.
They briefed His Highness on the report on the Awqaf Forum 2018, which was established by the Chamber in early April and entitled "Best Waqf Practices."
His Highness stressed the importance of endowments as a tributary of the development tributaries in the Kingdom, where the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, supported by God, paid close attention to them.
He added that the Awqaf Committee in Asharqia Chamber has distinguished efforts, which have contributed to spreading awareness and endowment culture in the business community.
During the meeting, His Highness praised the visit of the members of the Awqaf Committee at Asharqia Chamber to the United Kingdom in order to view the leading and distinctive waqf institutions.
He praised the experience that would enrich the Waqf work in the Eastern Region.
He was also reviewed the committee's publications and approved the proposal of the Chairman of the Endowment Committee in the chamber, Dr. Ayed Al-Qahtani, to accept the honorary chairmanship of the Awqaf Committee.
The President of Asharqia Chamber, Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Ammar, thanked the Prince of the region for his support and interest in the activities of the Chamber and all its committees.
He pointed out that the forum, which was established by the Endowment Committee in Asharqia Chamber, came in light of what the Kingdom is witnessing in a diversified economic transformation through the vision of the Kingdom 2030.
He also referred to the role of the private sector in building the social investment market through the endowments, and to provide best practices in the establishment, management, sustainability and investment of endowments by reviewing a number of live experiences spread throughout the world.
